Unfortunately, American Express has made the decision to no longer do business with us.
As a privately owned, small business we can no longer afford to have American Express as a merchant partner.
Dear Valued Customer, Effective immediately, we regret to inform you that we will no longer be accepting American Express as a form of payment. We understand that this may cause inconvenience to some of our clients, and for that, we sincerely apologize.
As a family-owned and operated business, we have proudly served our community for over 12 years. However, we have encountered significant challenges with American Express over the past four years. Despite maintaining a flawless record without any chargebacks, we have faced unreasonable demands from American Express.
In our experience, American Express has imposed stringent requirements, including withholding 20% of our sales until they accumulate over one million dollars, which they retain indefinitely without paying any interest to our business. Additionally, they mandate businesses to process payments exclusively through American Express Direct, penalizing those who choose otherwise, with substantial fines upwards to $20,000/month.
As a company committed to providing exceptional service and prioritizing the seamless experience of our clients, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue accepting American Express. For our own business credit card use, we have explored alternative options and found other card providers that offer better terms and greater value for our business needs.
We want to express our gratitude for your continued support and understanding during this transition. We assure you that we remain dedicated to delivering the highest standards of service and convenience to our valued customers.
Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change and appreciate your ongoing patronage. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Warm regards,
Michael Carey
President
